Since the 13th of October 2020 the government announced a partial lockdown... again. This includes several new measurements to adhere to, sadly. Of course there is a lot of discussion about the validity, legality and effectiveness of any/all measures.

So let's make it clear to all. Since we, your chosen bureaucats, are personally liable when anything goes wrong here under criminal and administrative law, we need you to help yourself to adhere all to these measures. So that we still have a space where people can at least get out nerd and safely meet to combat the stress of loneliness, boredom and what not during these extraordinary times.

We don't do this for fun but to be able to keep the space open and functioning for as many people as possible. If you do not agree with any/all of these rules, keep the discussion on IRC or in the [discuss] mailing-list verbally but don't act accordingly against these measurements as physical form of protest. We'd like to be able to keep the space running as much as possible. We feel that these measures will help keep members safe and prevent us from being forced by ACTA or the Gemeente to close the space.

Together we can hack this virus.

Summary

  • No more than 20 people in the space at any given time.
  • Members only in the space at all times (prospective members can still get a tour from the board, as required for joining)
  • Leave contact details and time/date you visit the space on the designated forms
  • No alcohol in the space after 20:00
  • Keep a minimum of 1,5 meters distance at all times
  • Disinfect / Wash your hands when entering the space and leaving
  • Where a facemask covering your mouth and nose at all times

Rules

No more than 20 people in the space at any given time.

To enforce this we ask you to all help each other adhere to this. We are implementing a tag system to help keep track of the number of people in the space. Clothespins will be hung at the door which you attach to your clothing visibly when you enter the space. Please replace the clothespin when leaving. We do not expect 20 people concurrently in the space most days, but please do adhere. The maximum number is calculated based on m2 available divided by the abillity to keep distance. No more tags means the space is full and you can't enter the space at that moment. Please don't start a line in the hallway so there is enough space for people to leave. We suggest to go down the stairs and use the common space there to wait if someone leaves. If you leave and you see fellow members waiting then please notify them that a spot is available.

Members only in the space at all times

To maintain the availability of the space we are going to have to suspend the "Social open door policy" for the time being. This means that only members are allowed to use/visit the space.

Wait! I'm not a member yet, Now What

People that aren't a member yet but wish to become a member are welcome to fill a form and start becoming a member. IF a board-member is present this can be dealt with right away. If not please fill in the online form and mail it to the board as stated on our website

Leave contact details and time/date you visit the space

Also we need you to leave a date and time entering and leaving the space. This entails an email address or phone-number in case of infections so we can contact you. Sadly this is a legal requirement we cannot circumvent otherwise for now. A paper ledger will be hung next to the entry. If you really can't live with this we suggest you don't come or just make another mail address specially for this

No alcohol in the space after 20:00

We already do not have a permit to provide alcohol in the space since we have no license to do so. So for the coming weeks we kindly ask you to refrain from drinking in the space or directly outside the ACTA building

Keep a minimum of 1,5 meters distance at all time

Unless you are from the same household. But as a strong piece of advice: To not confuse other members in the space who possible don't know you are living in the same place and set a good example, please keep the distance

Disinfect / Wash your hands when entering the space and leaving

By now this should be self explanatory and second nature to us all

Where a facemask covering your mouth and nose at all times

While in the bulding and in the space so not only while working in the dirty room. Last time we checked there where still some face-masks in a box on the table in case you forget, but please bring your own. We are not currently providing them, since our financial situation as a hackerspace isn't that healthy at the moment.

One final note

We do not like to take or enforce these measures, but given the choice between either closing the space entirely or introducing these rules, we prefer the latter. Please be responsible so we can still come together (1,5m apart) as a society and use our space. For many members, hacking together is still the only way to be able to 'get out' and feel physically and mentally stable in these trying times; as always, we want to support that as much as possible.

Thanks to you all for helping by adhering to these measures and kindly reminding your fellow members to do the same.

Good luck and good health!
