As a source of interesting waveforms, I plan to bring an AC [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rectifier#Full-wave_rectification|wave rectifier] on a breadboard so we can see the effects of the diodes and capacitors. If I find time to prepare it, I also plan to bring a simple [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/555_timer_IC|"IC 555"] based circuit to experiment with. [[User:Chotee|Chotee]] 00:09, 5 April 2013 (CEST)

From 19:00 onwards, expected to last an hour or so.

Goal of the training is to beable to properly use the Oscilloscopes in the space. Understanding the (basic) 'scope use while not being a danger to either the scope or yourself.

Although everybody is welcome to attend. The experience level expected that you know how to handle a regular multimeter (basic knowledge of electricity, ohms law, frequencies, etc.)

At the training the space will probably have 3 scopes, 2 analog and 1 Digital.

An interesting aspect might be that you will hear different sounds, and visualize how they look on the screen of an oscilloscope. You will hear and see different waveforms like a sine wave, triangle, block wave, noise, etc.
I will also, but that is a somewhat more advanced topic, try to show you how to use the two channels of the scope in um... differential mode, so channel 1 will draw the X axis, and channel 2 will draw the Y axis. We then can make cute pictures on screen. Ultratux 03:11, 4 April 2013 (CEST)
