Researching mpOTR

9 October 2012 update:
M. van Gundy, one of the original researchers behind mpOTR has been working on an extension of Bohli and Steinwandt's "Deniable Group Key Agreement protocol from VIETCRYPT '06" , that also does Deniable Signature Key Exchange (without increasing the round count). His research should be published in a paper in the future. This can be used as an underlying integrity layer for an mpOTR implementation.
