Powerbars

The powerbars are used to turn machines and lights in the space on and off. The web interface can be accessed from inside the space:

   http://powerbar.ti:5000

This interface is viewable from almost any browser, including many ancient browsers. For an optimal experience, use links:

Alternatively, you can use plain HTTP. See:

Infrastructure

There are two Baytech powerbars in the space. One is in the main room, near the printers. The other powerbar is hanging from the ceiling in the axillary room.

The first powerbar is currently controlled from one of the printer workstations, the powerbar in the auxiliary room is controlled with a Marsboard hanging next to the powerbar. The main powerbar interface is hosted on the printer workstation, and it communicates (internally) with the Marsboard near the other powerbar.

The Marsboard interface can also be accessed separately:

Sockets, Groups and Presets

The powerbar infrastructure is hierarchical.

Sockets

At the basic level, it consists of sockets. A socket can be either On or Off.

Groups

Sockets can be grouped -- a "group" contains a list of sockets. Groups can also be turned "On" and "Off". Typically, turning a group On or Off will also turn off the sockets in the group -- but there is an exception. Socket can be in several groups; if any of the groups that a socket is in require it to be on -- then the socket will be stay on, even if one of the other groups the socket is

  • also* are turned off.

Presets

Prefixes differ in this aspect. If you activate a prefix - it will make sure that certain sockets are turned On and Off. For example, a "Presentation Mode" prefix could turn off certain lights while turning on a projector.
