Power
Introduction
Power to the space comes from a variety of sources with different equipment powered by different circuits from different areas. This page is to document that.
Circuits
We have the following circuits
- Dirty room, fed from the fusebox
- Kitchen I, fed from the fusebox
- Kitchen II, fed from the fusebox
- The server room. Fed from magic. You do not ask where the server room gets it's power. It is safe to assume you cannot plug anything in to the power in the server room without express permission of the network team.
- Aux space, Fed from fusebox group 3.
- Aux space, house lights, circuit, unknown, fuse, unknown.
- Main space, house lights, circuit, unknown, fuse, unknown.
- Main space main circuit, this provides power to the lights controlled via the power bar, most of what is on powerbar.ti, including the radio computers, the main network switch by the window, maker row, etc... Fed from the fuse box behind the black door by the toilets. Circuit is labelled: "aardlekschakelaar 4"
Before plugging in anything with a substantial load, it's worth checking with Them That Know™, that you won't overload the circuit. Do consider that tripping a fuse on a weekend may require waiting until Monday morning for UR to fix it.
Maker Row & Powerboard.ti
The vertically mounted 0U power bar that is located next to the window, and is controlled by [[1]] controls the non fluorescent lighting in the main space, as well as a few other items, is plugged into wall sockets located down maker row. Also plugged in to these sockets is an extension lead that feeds the radio table, including the big printer, and another extension cable that feeds the 3d printer table. It is believed that the laser cutter is also plugged in here, but we're not sure where.
This circuit is controlled by the RCS trip switch in the fuse box located in the studio behind the black door, by the toilets. It is circuit labelled "aardlekschakelaar 4". In the event of a power tripping, the surge current when it's switched back on is enough for it to then trip out again. In order to safely restore the power to this circuit, all items need to be unplugged from the wall sockets in maker row, and then each can be plugged back in separately, with a short interval between each so the surge current doesn't trip the circuit again.
Projector
The projector has a power cable plugged in that disappears up through a hole in the ceiling. This is then plugged into a 6 way distribution board, which in turn is plugged into a socket on the wall to the North. The socket is marked "ZD+2" Three are other things plugged into the 6 way. What they are, is unknown.
Fuse Log
This is to keep a log of when fuses blow, or breakers trip, so we have an idea of how frequent it happens and whether we need to do anything about it.
- 2017-06-23 - Something blew taking out maker row and a the lights in the main space.
