A weekly members meeting for organising things to do with the space. From 4:30pm till 5:00 pm every Sunday.

About Members Meetings

  • The meetings are 30 minutes long.
  • Items that are discussed for more than 5 minutes will be cut short and discussion can continue after the meeting.

Agenda

Add items for the agenda below:

  • Internet connectivity
  • Annual hackerspace open day
  • Dispute resolution group
  • Items left over from the ALV
  • Cleaning the space
  • Hosting the techinc/website
  • Regular food/drink orders
  • Planning next ALV
  • Hack in the box haxpo

Minutes

Present:

  • Milo
  • Justa
  • Lucas
  • voidz0r

Internet connectivity

  • We need a dump of the config, modify it and ask Onno when he's available to open up the cabinet with the switch. Currently we have no idea, only Webmind knows.
  • Ask Webmind for the current config and/or password
  • Ask Onno when he's available.

Annual hackerspace open day

We need to announce the open day through:

  • The hackerspaces mailing list
  • UR newsletter
  • Local media
  • Meetup

voidz0r and realitygaps organise the open day, we need to gather more people for projects to showcase and talks.

Dispute resolution group

Check the minutes of the ALV to see who showed interest in the group. We could also do one more announcement on the mailing list. Voidz0r proposed to drop the group altogether if and only if at the next meeting a group has yet to form.

Items left over from the ALV

Justa is doing this and would like help with this. He'd like to sit down with others to help

Cleaning the space

  • We could make a roster of cleaning duties and post it to the fridge. Our members are lacking in discipline and we'd hope that with a roster in a visible central place would make people more aware of what needs to be done.
  • We should make a proposal of what belongs where, which includes all the fixed things such as tables, soldering irons, etc. It covers the usage of the space
  • We should better document the who/what/where/when of the space and post it both physically in the space and on the wiki. New members often find difficulty figuring out how everything works.
  • Justa will make a list of what needs doing, voidz0r will take a piss at it and we'll post the results at the next member meeting.

Hosting the techinc/website

We should take the colo offer asap with whatever hardware we got. Justa has a pizzabox to spare for this purpose. A VPS isn't preffered because we'd like to own and have root to our boxes. We could also ask r0p for rackspace.

Regular food/drink orders

No one offered to do this, so instead we'd like to post a mail to the mailing list in a cron job so we can source people for this per order rather than for all of them.

Planning next ALV

  • Members are always free to come up with proposals with for the next ALV. ArdaXi stepped down as both a board member and treasurer. Amran might also be stepping down due to his departe to the UK
  • It shouldn't take more than a month and a half for the next ALV.

Hack in the box haxpo

  • We can have a stand at a tradeshow to show interested minds what we're doing and what we've been up to. Milo offered to help out as a liaison for visitors if he's not on a holiday. We should ask JinX to show off his AnusCopter. Lucas had the idea of bringing a 3D printer as well. Point being, people will come to us with questions such as “What is hacking?” and “What do hackers do?”.
  • We have to send a mail to the organisers of haxpo telling them we're interested and what we can show the patrons. Voidz0r offered to be a contact liaison for haxpo and send the mailing list a call-to-arms.

Anything else that comes up

  • We post the list of things to do when you leave the space on the door AND have at least an overview of how/what/where lights, ventilation and such beneath the space button so we cover both important aspects of entering as well as leaving the space.
  • We could hook up the space state to the powerbar such that if nothing happens for a while and the state is OFF, we can automatically turn off all the things.
  • We should write in the back of the fridge “IF YOU CAN SEE MEE, BRING MORE $x” where $x is the drink that belongs on that shelf.
