This event is for those who would like to get started with CTF, or improve already existing skills.
Sometimes it's pretty time consuming to investigate the ways of solving CTF challenges alone, and it's much easier/faster to ask someone who already knows how to do it.
The idea is to gather at the hackerspace and try to solve different CTF challenges drinking Club-mate/beer. More experienced people can help beginners who got stuck with some tasks. If no one doesn't know the solution, we can brainstorm it all together.
There are plenty of training resources on the internet: http://captf.com/practice-ctf/
To begin with, you can try https://picoctf.com/
Everyone is welcome, even complete beginners! Please, bring your laptops!
This event is free, but if you get drinks, please pay for them :)
What is CTF (Capture The Flag)?
CTF is an infosec competition which consists in solving various tasks related to such topics as Web, Forensic, Crypto, Binary etc.
What did we do last time?
We played some CTF challenges from: http://overthewire.org/wargames/bandit/
I'd say, let's try to finish this game as it's a very good basis for some more complicated wargames.
Maybe after we can do some web challenges that integrate some of the stuff we learned from bandit?
