My preferred alternative:

Votable point 1: All new member fobs become purchases, but the association will allow members to get a refund for their fobs at the discretion of the association. So mostly status quo, except that it doesn't count as "loan" any more.

Votable point 2:

All existing fob loans to be converted into purchases, with the €18 deposit being donated to space funds. All members who don't agree on this, are able to ask the association if they can return their fob before the end of 2020.

The advantage here is that the low-entry barrier remains: people who cannot afford to pay quite as much will not be barred from being a member, since they can likely get their 18 euro back, barring bankruptcy on our side, but we can ignore the headaches that the loans give us.

Cheers, Merlijn

Hi all,

I just had a small Jitsi get-together with Katje and this is my revised proposal, thanks to Piele and Katje for thinking a long.

Votable point 1:

All new member fobs will no longer be on loan with a refundable €18 deposit, but will be purchased outright by the member.

YES/NO

Votable point 2:

All existing fob loans to be converted into purchases, with the €18 deposit being donated to space funds.

All members who don't agree on this, are able to return their fob before dec. 31 2020 23:59:59 CET and get their E 18,- back.

YES/NO

This means that, if you want, you can post your fob back the space or bring it in person, and if we receive it, you'll be able to get your fob deposit back.

Best, Jurre
