Electronic cigarettes and vaporisers are becoming a popular method of nicotine consumption which appears to be much safer than cigarettes. They can also be used with nicotine-free solutions for those who enjoy vaping but are not after a nicotine hit.

There are a few components to electronic cigarettes: The battery, the atomizer and the liquid.

This workshop is for skillsharing on creating these components as most of them can be made in the hackerspace with some basic tools and equipment.

The workshop will start at 3pm.

Eliquid

I will bring some Propylene Glycol (PG) and Vegetable Glycerin (VG). I also have a selection of flavours that can be added to the mix. There is some nicotine available for those who want to use it in their liquids but most of the eliquid testing will be done with 0mg nicotine solutions.

Atomizers

I'm bringing some rebuildable atomizers (RBAs) and some wicks and coils to demonstrate how these can be rebuilt easily (rather than buying replacement coils). There will be the possibility to attempt to build and test/vape on your own RBA coil.

Batteries

This is more general and something I have less knowledge about. For the open ecig project (http://wiki.techinc.nl/index.php/Open_Ecig) there will be the need for a good battery solution so if anyone has any ideas please share :)

Useful things to bring

  • Your ecigarette and/or battery (if you have one)
  • Any wicks or nichrome/kanthal wire that you have
  • Some small bottles for mixing solutions in (i only have a few)
  • Some syringes for accurate measurement (i only have a few)
  • Ideas and enthusiasm
