The board shall endeavour to keep at least three months of rent in the bank as a reserve.

In the event that the reserves in the bank account drop below an amount equal to three months rent for a period longer than 72 hours, the board shall notify the membership via the primary official communication channel.

In the event that the reserves in the bank account drop below an amount equal to two months rent for a period longer than 72 hours. The board shall call an ALV to happen not later than 6 weeks after the balance drops below this threshold. - ----

Some explanatory notes:

- - Why the 72 hours thing? Because there are times where there may be the occasional dip, say we pay the rent a couple of days early cos it's a convenient time, say ABN screw up and all incoming payments are delayed for some reason. - - Why are you suggesting this at all? Because if the board are doing things right, and everyone is paying their membership on time, you only really hear about the finances once a year at the ALV. This means things could get pretty bad and the memebrs not know about it. This motion should make sure that the members are aware of what's going on, and can act if necessary. Katje
