Russian journalists

Kris is working with journalists having to flee Russia

city of Amsterdam feels it has to support journalists living Russia.

There is a need for understanding how propaganda works in Russia, also need for research, to connect and translate how propaganda works in Russia to create more understanding

Ruben Bravo has a project to connect with them. He is on the signal group

Platform that combines goods to sent to Ukraine

Michael had an idea to have a platform that combines goods to send to Ukraine. There is an overwhelming amount of information that needs to come together Ton de Meier helped with building the website, there is 1 1/2 week of programming hours. Now they need help with launching the platform. We need a producer, a media hook. To work together with ? from the Balie, to launch and promote the platform. A project coordinator / producer full time, someone to take the co- responsibility for the platform.

Marleen - De Waag can support the platform collectively, as part of the idea of being public with the Tactical Tech group, and the site can be part of this.

Soft launch before really launching it.

Soup

A friend in Lviv makes soup and share the receipt. It is something nice for us and we can start cooking soup. This is happening at the NDSM terrain in Amsterdam every friday. This is a way to talk with ppl about the war in a less heavy way. With a soup and a beer. It calls the mirror kitchen. There is no website. It is almost becoming a party We don't see any problem to lift the depression of the war and celebrating the freedom we still have.

De Waag - kinderen

At De Waag we are working on a project for children from Ukraine. A creative program, weekly meeting for children (they dont have schools currently)

Workshops - Vesna

Last time we made a call for workshops that are offered - they are listed on the wiki, and they still need some help to organise it.

Idea of workshops:

• how to secure yourself
• how to debunk
• also, here we need to be better aware of how to protect ourselves because we are quite public

there are 2 offers,

• proton main and vpn
• workshop on guerrilla translation - cecilia

Other - Vesna

Today there is a statement from Ripe supporting a free internet. Also, There was a workshop for Ukraine where 100 ppl attended, but as it was in Ukrainian and Vesna didn't understand

Equipment collection is going on. They are shipping from Ljubljana. They are looking for fibre splicer

Monday afternoon (11 -04) there will be a panel about the internet on the Balkan war.

Mark and Geert - datasprint desinformation

Geert wants to give a continuation for the research. Uva and media studies will come together with the Institute of Network Culture and see if they can combine resources to make original research,because original research has impact.

People from Russia and Ukraine can bring original material to us. It is about bringing researches together.

A journalist from politico, is writing about the Russian embassy sponsoring telegram channel fakes (Mark)

Gert will organise a meeting between Ruben and Mark

Kris will join this group.

Kris knows a Russian journalist who is writing about how this machine/ mechanism works (propaganda)

The biggest embassy next to Washington is ? . The website is sponsored by this scheme, Geert can get information about this.

Plan:

• 2 or 3 presentations, and we start working in group. This is in line with the data sprint
• can be of a value for the European program
• Goal is to deepen the research and to have a better understanding about the war machine, and it is good to understand because there are people who are key on this machine.
• We can also look into how this mechanics works on other countries outside Russia, like Hungary, France
• We are now investigating how our political system is being undermined by the same methods - like Baudet. (Marleen)
• if we want to invite ppl - st topic is disinformation, this is a working session. Around 20 /30/ 40 people. More than that does not make sense.

There will be 2 groups:

• This group by invitation
• A public event

For the public event:

We can combine these 2 events-workshop, soup, tactical tech. The meetings should be regular, as first Sunday from the month or maybe once in 2 weeks.

Figure out a date, make sense to make the public part once a month.

• start with the 2 workshops
• schedule the workshops
• last time we had a discussion on how to use satellite dishes. (Could also be a nice topic, but Vesna does not have anyone to do this. Maybe we should help her look for it)
• For the 15 -04 we should make a text to use it for the public tactical tech event.

Friday 15 -04 - soup / soul food connected with the launching of the platform.

Our focus is to support tactical tech and media.
